Program Name: ARC Connections

Program Description: Grades K - 8 Reading/Language Arts, Math and ESL. We use a small group approach with one tutor for four children. There is a curriculum leader in charge of every 40 students to monitor instructional programs and to assist tutors in instruction. Each site has a coordinator to manage the instruction and learning environment. Our material is standards-based in math, reading, and ESL. A specially designed measurement study is a part of our grade 2-6 math programs.

Schools where program is currently offered: In the 2005-2006 school year, we worked in Acorn Woodland, Melrose, Webster, Whittier, Horace Mann, Jefferson, and Allendale schools.

Capacity to Deliver Services: We staff our tutors on a 1::4 ratio, adults to students. Instruction for every group of 40 students is monitored by a curriculum specialist. Each site is supervised by a certificated teacher. Bilingual tutors are hired to match the language needs of students.

Days per week: Program is available 5 days a week.

Hours per day: We adapt numbers of days and hours to the needs of the school.

Student/Instructor Ratio: 4::1

Total number students (per school site): Numbers are open but we prefer a minimum of 20 students.

Contract Fee Schedule: The fee is $15.00 an hour for each student.

Instructor Cost/hour: Instructor's costs are covered by the student fee.
