Program Name: Higher Learning

 

Program Description: Higher Learning is an after school academic support and cultural enrichment programs for students ages 9 to 12 that live in the San Antonio neighborhood in District 2.

Capacity to Deliver Services: 5 professional staff  10 para-professional staff  20 certificated teachers  25 college age tutors  100 high school interns

 

Days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday             

Hours per day: 3 hours per day

Student/Instructor Ratio: One to fifteen for a homework tutorial  group,  One to five for an academic intervention group.

Total number students (per school site): 750 for all 5 school sites

 

Contract Fee Schedule: It would cost $250,000 to provide one year of comprehensive academic and enrichment program for 150 elementary school students.    It would cost $500,000 to provide one year of comprehensive academic and enrichment program for 200 middle school students.

Instructor Cost/hour: $15 to $25 per hour
