Program Name: Super Stars Literacy Program

Program Description: Super Stars Literacy Program is designed to intervene early with children in kindergarten through second grades who exhibit significant delays in reading acquisition or reading skills development. Using an integrated school/community-based model, the program provides daily, intensive after school small group reading instruction and individualized tutoring along with enrichment activities in coordination with the classroom curriculum.

Capacity to Deliver Services: 1 90% FTE Program Coordinator (credentialled teacher) 1 35% FTE Assistant Program Coordinator (credentailled teacher) 4 65% FTE Group leaders (two per classroom--10 month position) 4 part-time (10-12 hrs/week) classroom assistants

Hours per day: Every day immediately after school until 5 for 1-2, 4:30 for kindergarten

Student/Instructor Ratio: 6:1

Current program breakdown is 25 kindergarten children and 25 1st & 2nd grade children

Contract Fee Schedule: The cost per child is approximately $3,300/school year. We do not currently charge any fees for the program.
