Program Name: Youth Law Program

 

Program Description: Youth from different schools and different communities gather semi-monthly for Law Club to build law-related skills for Court, discuss cases, practice peer critique/peer support, and participate in special activities (e.g., guest speaker, field trip, etc.); twice a month, youth participate in Court Night when youth offender cases are heard in court rooms run by youth and sentencing is determined by a jury of youth.  Other activities, such as Youth Board and the Youth In Leadership program are also possibilities.  Peer support is key to all McCullum programs.  Youth In Leadership build skills to work with youth offenders; develop and facilitate programs; and train youth to mediate conflict.

Program Schedule

Afterschool- Monday through Friday

Summer- Monday through Thursday

Saturday and Sunday

Weekend activities, including trainings and field trips, are offered periodically throughout the year.
