Oakland After School Programs Job Fair – July 31, 2007

 

When should I arrive?

We recommend you arrive no later than 9:15 to set up your booth.

 

Where is the Fair being held?

The Fair will be at Cal State East Bay in the Conference Center, located at 1000 Broadway, in the large conference room.

 

 

Is parking available?

There is no parking that is officially designated for the Job Fair. There is a parking lot directly below the center, although cars left in the lot after 7pm will be fined.  There are additional parking lots nearby.  The Conference Center is easily accessible by BART (exit at the 12th St/City Center stop).

 

What should I bring?

We recommend you bring copies of job descriptions and any information about your organization that you would like to provide. You may also want to bring job applications or a sign up sheet to capture information from jobseekers.

 

What size is my booth?

Each organization will be provided a standard rectangular folding table with 2 chairs on the long end (table is approximately 5 ft. by 2 ft.). We will provide a basic sign with your organization’s name to hang on the front of the table, but feel free to bring your own signs and other table materials.

 

Can I leave materials at my booth from 2:30-4:00PM?

Yes, feel free to leave materials. Someone should be around to make sure the tables are watched. We recommend, however, that you take any valuables will you during the break in the Fair.

 

Who will be attending?

(7/12/07) We are outreaching to the college student community as well as the general Oakland community.  As we start to receive responses from job seekers, we will provide you with approximate numbers of those planning to attend.

 

Will food be provided?

We are working on securing some in-kind food and drink donations, but nothing has been established yet.
